Today I want to talk to you about MATCHA tea, which is a variety of green tea that is prepared with the powder of the whole leaf of the Camellia sinensis plant, the same species that is used to make green tea. The difference is that Matcha tea uses the whole leaf and with green tea only a part of it.



This tea is considered a superfood due to the amount of vitamins and minerals it contains. It is rich in antioxidants called polyphenols, which have been linked to protection against heart disease and cancer, as well as better blood sugar regulation, lowering blood pressure, and anti-aging, burning calories, increasing energy and stamina levels, improves memory and concentration, strengthens the immune system, detoxifies the body, increases metabolism, and helps slow or stop the growth of cancer cells.



A dose of tea per day is recommended and preferably organic. Matcha powder has a slightly sweet flavor, so it is often used as a condiment for some foods (sweets, ice cream and milkshakes, among others).

Matcha tea can be found in supermarkets, especially health food stores and tea shops, and on the Internet.
